IMPORTANT - PRESCRIPTION ORDERING OVER WEEKEND 18TH & 19TH MAY

If you ordered a prescription over this weekend - we have experienced an issue with our phone system and all messages have been lost.    We know that this will only affect 28 patients, but please accept our apologies for this and if you can re-order as soon as possible.     The system has now been fixed and is working normally.

Extended Access to Appointments

The IMP Federation (of which Abbey Medical Practice is a part of) is pleased to be able to offer patients access to routine GP appointments at evenings and weekends.     The new service is part of an extended access service which has been commissioned by NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group.

The appointments will also be available on bank holidays and across the Easter, Christmas and New Year periods.

Extended hours appointments are for pre-bookable non-urgent appointments.

For urgent matters at evenings and weekends, patients will continue to access the GP Out of Hours Services at Lincoln County Hospital via NHS 111 or the Minor Injuries Unit at John Coupland Hospital.

PLEASE NOTE   -  If a patient wishes to attend an extended hours appointment, they will need to travel to another local GP practice or a central GP practice hub and will not see their own GP.

Ultimately, this is about allowing a patient to see a GP or practice nurse at a time that is convenient to them.

To arrange an appointment or for more information on when and where appointments are available, speak to a member of the Reception Team or call the practice on 01522 530334

Donation to MacMillan - we did a belated Flu Clinic MacMillan Coffee Morning and raised £139.72 - Many thanks to all who attended and helped out.

New Prescription Line

Due to the increased number of prescriptions we are trialling a 24 hour repeat prescription line.

This can be accessed the same way as before - dial the normal practice number and Option 2 for prescriptions.   You will automatically be transferred to the answer machine.   Please leave a message stating your NAME, DATE OF BIRTH, address and telephone number followed by the NAME OF THE MEDICATION you require.    Please speak clearly and spell anything unusual.   If we cannot hear the message we cannot generate your prescription !

Use of Arboretum Premises

We are now able to use some of the rooms at the Arboretum Practice - which is only across the road from us.    Please check which building your appointment is in.

GREAT NEWS -     We have received our CQC report after the Inspection on 31st May and have been graded as GOOD

Care Data

Care Data

Information about you and the care you receive is shared in a secure system by healthcare staff to support your treatment and care.

It is important that we, the NHS, can use this information to plan and improve services for all patients.  We would like to link information from all the different places where you receive care, such as your GP, hospital and community service, to help us provide a full picture.    This will allow us to compare the care you received in one area against the care you received in another, so we can see what has worked best.

Information such as your postcode and NHS number, but not your name, will be used to link your records in a secure system, so your identity is protected.   Information which does not reveal your identity can then be used by others, such as researchers and those planning health services, to make sure we provide the best care possible for everyone.

You have a choice.   If you are happy for your information to be used in this way you do not have to do anything.    If you have any concerns or wish to prevent this from happening, please call the dedicated patient information line on 0300 456 3531 or or download a copy of the leaflet “How information about you helps us to provide better care” below.    We wish to ensure that you know this is happening and the choices you have.      An opt out form is also provided for your convenience.
