Noticeboard

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING - Friday 29th September - and Flu Morning on Sat 7th October.  A huge thanks to all who attended and helped - we have raised over £400 so far and money is still coming in.

If you have not had your flu jab yet - please make an appointment - having the vaccine here provides vital income to the practice - if we don't get this income - we may lose some services.

New Prescription Line

Due to the increased number of prescriptions we are trialling a 24 hour repeat prescription line.

This can be accessed the same way as before - dial the normal practice number and Option 2 for prescriptions.   You will automatically be transferred to the answer machine.   Please leave a message stating your name, date of birth, address and telephone number followed by the medication you require.    Please speak clearly and spell anything unusual.   If we cannot hear the message we cannot generate your prescription !

Use of Arboretum Premises

We are now able to use some of the rooms at the Arboretum Practice - which is only across the road from us.    Please check which building your appointment is in.

GREAT NEWS -     We have received our CQC report after the Inspection on 31st May and have been graded as GOOD

Appointments calendar

Consultations are by appointment and can be booked in person at reception, by telephone on 01522 530334 (option 1) and online.

We will always endeavour to book you an appointment with your choice of doctor, however this will not always be possible. If you need to be seen on the same day or the next day it is likely you will have to see any available doctor. If you are prepared to wait longer for an appointment this will increase the chances of you getting an appointment with your doctor of choice.

NEW INFORMATION - for booking appointments on the day

For booking appointments on the day we use a TRIAGE system

This means that anyone phoning who wishes to see a GP on the day, will not be given an appointment straight away, but called back by the dedicated triage GP who will then decide the most appropriate action for the patient.   If the GP decides that an appointment is required, they will book one with either a GP or a nurse.   It is anticipated that a number of patients will not actually need an appointment, merely advice from the triage GP over the phone, thus ensuring everyone is dealt with appropriately and within an acceptable timescale.

Your comments on the TRIAGE system will be gladly received.

Telephone Consultations

If you need advice or simply want to discuss your medication you can request a telephone consultation with the doctor. If the doctor subsequently feels you need to be seen at the surgery you will be asked to make an appointment.

Clinical Nurse Prescriber/Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with either our Clinical Nurse Prescriber or the Practice nurse rather than a doctor.    Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
